I simply love tiramisu!

And although there is absolutely nothing like the real creamy, coffee, crumbly dessert, I don’t always have time to pull out all the stops. I also usually don’t have all the ingredients within reach.

This recipe is so easy to make and unless you’re having a famous chef over for dinner, I doubt they’ll even notice the difference.

Just a few ingredients, ten minutes of your time and BAM! You whipped up an amazing Tiramisu that will have your guests begging for more.

the list.

4 tsp instant coffee

4 tbsp coffee liqueur

250g tub mascarpone

85g condensed milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

4-8 sponge fingers (depending on how much cookie you like)

1 tbsp dark cocoa powder (more or less) or you can use grated dark chocolate

the how.

  • STEP 1 – Make the Coffee

Add 2 tbsp of boiling water in a jug and add the instant coffee, stir until dissolved. Now, add the coffee liqueur and 75ml of cold water. Set aside.

  • STEP 2 – Create your Cream

Grab your mascarpone, condensed milk and vanilla extract, now beat them together until the result is a thick, smooth cream.

  • STEP 3 – Layer it Up!

Yes, you can be finicky and create the perfect layered tiramisu, but if you’re like me, always in a hurry, this works best.

Destroy the sponge fingers! That’s right, break them into pieces and soak them in the coffee for just a few moments. Now grab a wine glass, a dessert bowl, or even pretty champagne flute, and put a few bits of the sponge at the bottom. Generously add some cream before sifting a touch of dark cocoa over the top. Chill for an hour, or four (depending on how much in a hurry you are to taste your creation) and enjoy!

get creative.

You can create as many layers as you want, or stick with one layer of each. Decorate with mint leaves, cherries, or even berries.
